About Angwin...
Angwin is a community of about 2500 residents on Howell Mountain. We are in a coastal range of northern California, about 70 mi. north of San Francisco.
The Village ranges from 1600 to 2200 ft. elevation, overlooking the scenic Napa Valley. It is surrounded by vineyards and forests.
Many Angwin residents work for Pacific Union College, a liberal arts college with a national reputation, or the nearby St. Helena Hospital.

October Days in and about Angwin
These are the idyllic days. Between the summer heat wave and the first rain of the winter season.
Take a hike. Take a ride.
Any day now we could see rain and the hills turn green
Up close, even the weathered rocks are colorful
Oak woodlands. Acorns crunching underfoot
Is that a pileated woodpecker?
Great patches of daisies along the Butts Canyon Road
Hazy days and green vineyards starting to turn yellow
And laden with ripening fruit
