PUC students raising money for Ethiopian school
There is a wonderful story in how a PUC librarian, Adu Worku, has been raising money to build a school in his hometown village in Ethiopia. A PUC student organization, named Revo, which adopts good causes will be producing a series of events to raise money for Worku's school.
They have scheduled a "Stuff Sale," a concert, and a fashion show on May on the campus mall. The schedule is:
Stuff Sale: 2-6 pm, Sunday May 4
Concert: On the lawn by the fountain
Fashion Show: At the fountain
The funds raised will buy books for the schoolchildren, furniture, and work on a solar panel.
Angwin residents are urged to attend and contribute generously to this good cause. If you'd like more information about the project, contact Adu at aworku@puc.edu.

Two front-runner candidates
bring their campaigns to Angwin
Next week, Napa County Supervisor Bill Dodd will present his vision for representing Napa County in the California State Assembly. Napa County District Attorney Gary Liberstein, campaigning for re-election, will review his successes in that office.
Both candidates are veterans in the public service and are well-known to most Angwin residents. But they will provide insights in their respective responsibilities.
The public meeting, free to all, will be held Tuesday, May 6.
The time: 7 pm.
The place: the Angwin firehouse.

The Iris Garden is Open
One of the most beautiful local sights is the Napa Country Iris Garden, near Moskowite Corner. Nearly 400 varieties in a beautiful rural setting.
This is about a 45-minute trip (about the time of going to Santa Rosa) through scenic northern California countryside. Go to Pope Valley and turn right. Drive about seven miles to Lower Chiles Valley road at the left. Take that road to where it dead-ends at Route 128. Turn left and follow 128 to Moskowite Corner (amost to where it dead-ends at 121). Just a few feet BEFORE that intersection, however, turn left onto Steele Canyon Road and go a couple of miles to the Garden.
A must go-to.
