About Angwin...
Angwin is a community of about 3000 residents on Howell Mountain. We are in a coastal range of northern California, about 70 mi. north of San Francisco.
The Village ranges from 1600 to 2200 ft. elevation, overlooking the scenic Napa Valley. It is surrounded by vineyards and forests.
Many Angwin residents work for Pacific Union College, a liberal arts college with a national reputation, or the nearby St. Helena Hospital.

Save Rural Angwin Going All Out
Angwinites opposing the PUC/Triad subdivision of 380 new housing units are moving into high gear. On behalf of the Angwin community, the group has retained a San Francisco lawyer to explore legal options and an environmental consultant to review impacts of the project.
SRA has also launched a major fund drive to pay for the accelerated program. Donna Morgan, long-time Angwin resident, is heading the drive.
The firm of Moscone, Emblidge & Quadra, experienced land use attorneys, will be on board for any legal actions SRA may desire to undertake. The environmental consulting company, Grassetti Environmental Consulting, of Berkeley, will take on the task of studying the Environmental Impact Report being prepared for the project and give County officials a second opinion.
The fund drive got underway last month with an appeal to SRA's 1,100 supporters. Warren and Barbara Winiarski, former Angwin residents, kick-started the drive with a challenge grant of $10,000 to be matched by another $10,00 from Angwin residents. St. Helena winemaker Dario Sattui, immediately followed suit with another $10,000 challenge grant, which can be matched from SRA supporters regardless of place of residence.
The Winiarskis and Sattui are representative of Napa County residents who have been fighting for slow growth and preservation of open space for years. They see the PUC/Triad project as the kind of threat which requires massive public protest.

SRA supporters are determined to defeat a subdivision on prime agricultural land in the heart of the Angwin community.
